Privacy Policy

What Blue Passport Travel and the services it uses collect when you read the site or send us a form, why, how long we keep it, how ads use cookies, and how to ask us to delete your details.

Verified November 2026

Last updated November 1, 2026. This policy covers bluepassporttravel.com and all of its guides.

The short version

  • We do not set our own cookies for tracking or advertising.
  • Some pages may show ads from Google. Google and its partners use cookies to show those ads, and you can turn off personalized ads (see Advertising).
  • We only learn your name and email if you type them into one of our forms, and we use them only to answer you or to send the monthly letter you asked for.
  • We never sell, rent or trade the details you send us.
  • You can ask us to show you or delete what we hold about you at any time.

When you send us a form

The trip-planning form, the message form and the monthly-letter sign-up send us what you type: usually your name, your email address, your travel dates, the number of travelers, a budget range and your message. We store it on our web server and read it to reply to you or plan your trip. If you sign up for the monthly letter, we use your email address only to send it, and every letter has a way to unsubscribe.

To stop spam, the server counts how many forms come from the same connection in an hour. It does this with a one-way code made from your internet address and the date, which changes every day and cannot be turned back into the address. The count is deleted after an hour.

We keep trip requests and messages for as long as we are helping you, and for up to two years afterward so we can answer follow-up questions, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.

Visitor statistics

To see which pages are useful, the site can load a small statistics script from our hosting dashboard. It records the page you view and its title, the page that sent you here, campaign tags in the address (such as utm_source), your browser language, your screen size, your browser and device type and your approximate country. It groups the pages of one visit with a random code kept in your browser's session storage, which is deleted when you close the tab. It does not set cookies, does not store your internet address, and does not run at all if your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.

What stays in your browser

The trip builder, the packing checklist, saved routes and display settings (such as dark mode) are kept in your browser's local storage, on your own device. We never see them unless you choose to send them to us. You can clear them at any time in your browser's settings. Share links from the trip builder put your route in the link itself, so anyone you send the link to can see that route.

Advertising

To pay for the site, some pages may show ads served by Google AdSense. Ads are labeled and kept separate from our own content.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
  • You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some other vendors' cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info or, in Europe, www.youronlinechoices.eu.
  • Google may also show ads from other ad networks and ad technology providers that it works with. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland see a consent message that lists those providers and lets you accept, refuse or choose which ones may use cookies; you can change your choice at any time from the privacy settings link that message adds to the page.
  • If you turn off personalized ads, or refuse consent, you may still see ads, but they are based on the page you are reading rather than on your other visits.

Google explains how it uses information from sites that show its ads at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services, and how its advertising cookies work at Google advertising. We do not send Google your name, email or anything else you type into our forms.

Other services the pages use

  • Fonts. The pages load their typefaces from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google's servers, which receive your internet address and browser details as part of that request. See Google's privacy policy for how it handles them.
  • Photos. Our photos come from Wikimedia Commons under free licenses, credited on each page. We serve copies from our own server, so viewing them does not contact Wikimedia.
  • Hosting. Our web host keeps standard server logs (internet address, page requested, time and browser) for a limited time for security and to keep the site running. We do not use them for marketing.
  • Links. We link to official sites (governments, transport companies, museums) so you can book or check details. Those sites have their own privacy policies.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, and you can unsubscribe from the monthly letter at any time. Use the contact form and choose "A privacy request"; we reply within two business days and act on deletion requests within 30 days. Depending on where you live (for example California, or the European Union and the United Kingdom), the law gives you these rights; we honor them for everyone. For ads, you can turn off personalized advertising at any time in Google's Ads Settings, and visitors in US states with privacy laws, such as California, may also see an option to opt out of ads based on their personal information.

Children

The site is written for adults planning trips. We do not knowingly collect details from children under 13. If you think a child has sent us their details, tell us and we will delete them.

Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect, for example by adding another ad network or booking or partner links, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect. See also our terms of use.
