General information, not advice
Our guides give general travel information for people traveling on a US passport. They are not legal, immigration, customs, tax, medical or financial advice, and they cannot cover every situation, such as dual citizenship, a criminal record, a medical condition or travel with a child who is not your own. For your own case, ask the official authority or a qualified professional.
Accuracy and changes
We research every page from official sources and show the month its facts were last checked, but entry rules, fees, prices, timetables and opening hours change, sometimes without notice. Before you book or travel, confirm anything that matters with the official source, such as the US State Department, the embassy or immigration service of the country you are visiting, your airline and the place you plan to visit. Prices in dollars are approximate and use the exchange rate shown on the page.
If you find a mistake, please tell us so we can fix it.
Trip tools
The trip builder, budget calculator, converters and packing list are planning aids. Travel times, costs and conversions they show are estimates. Anything you save in them stays in your own browser.
Trip-planning requests
When you send us a trip-planning request, any plan we send back is a set of suggestions. Prices and availability are only confirmed when you book with the airline, hotel or other provider, under that provider's own terms. We do not make bookings or take payment through this site.
Links and ads
We link to official sites and other services so you can check details or book. We don't control those sites and are not responsible for their content, prices or privacy practices. Some pages may show ads served by Google and its partners. Ads are clearly separated from our own content; an ad is not a recommendation from us, and any purchase you make through an ad is between you and the advertiser.
